I love videogames. I've loved them since my mum bought me my first ever console - a Sega Master System with a built in copy of Sonic the Hedgehog - and I still do to this day.
I've become a surprise collector. Surprise in the sense that I've never actively sought to collect systems or games, but due to my bucking of the trend of selling a game once you've completed it, I've amassed a neat little collection of games and consoles. I never intended it to be this way, but I can't bare to separate from them.
I'm not the typical game player of today, either. Don't get me wrong, I'm not reinventing the wheel or anything, but I'm a 26 year old, male, Nintendo fan. I do have an Xbox 360, yes, but only for a select few games. I'm not the biggest fan of first person shooters (or third person ones, for that matter). Give me a good old fashioned collectathon platformer where every item has a pair of googly eyes on it and the characters are all anthropomorphic animals and I'm happy. I'm a huge retro fan and firmly believe that some of the best games in existence are from the 8 and 16 bit eras. So if you're expecting blog posts where I brag about my latest gnarly kill and head shot, look somewhere else.
I decided to create this blog to journal my adventures in gaming. As a soon to be father, I may not play as much as I used to, but my love is still there, and where I go, this blog will go, detailing what I play, think and feel as I explore new games, old games and whatever other games I can find.
It''s going to be fun.
